Lithuanian Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius has promised that the government will look for millions of Litas that will be needed next year for Lithuania’s legal actions against the Russian gas concern Gazprom.

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius made a comment to Verslo Žinios (Eng. Business News) about information that the Ministry of Energy is asking to assign 8 million Litas in next year’s budget for arbitration with Gazprom.

The Prime Minister said, "It is a new thing, a new proposal, which was presented a few days ago. But we in the government will look for opportunities to resolve this issue.”

He reiterated that Lithuania is not planning to pursue its claim worth billions of Litas against Gazprom from the international arbitration.
